What do I do?

I help queer, trans, and alternative people on their perinatal journey by providing bespoke, aligned midwifery care and advocacy, so they can relax into their bodies and their choices through a unique, grounded, educational and gently activist approach, acting as the bridge between my clients and the standardised medical system.

Independent midwife East Sussex; covering Bexhill, St.Leonards, Hastings, Battle, Rye, Robertsbridge and surrounding areas.

We can work together to build a care package that suits your needs.

I'm an experienced radical midwife for queer, neurodivergent, and alternative families specialising in home birth and human rights based perinatal care.

I have 13 years of experience as a midwife and, as a trans queer alternative parent myself who had two home water births, I have come face to face with the challenges that people like us come across within the standard care framework.

This experience, plus my expertise, has shaped my approach to midwifery. I am an expert in 'out of guidance' care for those who wish to decline certain interventions, induction, and/or have a home birth 'against advice'. I offer unhurried, unique, nurturing and magical appointments to align with you and attentive, gentle birth care dedicated to your rights and wishes.

What Others Have Said...

"Dear Nathan,
I just wanted to write to thank you for such a wonderful birth experience, I really couldn't have hoped for more and can't in my sleep deprived state, find the words adequate to express my gratitude. I will always be grateful to you for your calm, your kindness, your warmth and for your quiet professionalism and expertise all of which you managed to silently communicate to me in the first few moments of being in our home. I knew I had nothing to fear and you would absolutely have everything under control no matter what happened.

You mentioned not being able to hug me as you usually would, but I felt the warmth and kindness of that hug, even if you couldn't actually give it as you wished. And now we have our beautiful son who has been a delight already. I feel so lucky that he had the gentlest, kindest welcome into our family.
With love and eternal gratitude."

"To Nathan,

I honestly can't put into words how much of an impact you have had on my life.

You sold me the ultimate dream of having my baby at home, the magical experience and I'll admit I was skeptical. I was cautious. Past trauma haunted me... HOWEVER you delivered that promise! You went above and beyond and for that I will be forever grateful!! I honestly cannot put into words how much it's changed my entire life.

So THANK YOU!!

I honestly was blessed to have you as my midwife and my support for the journey! You was definitely sent from above!

Thank you for everything you have done for us as a family and for delivering our beautiful baby boy. Thank you for making it such a beautiful, memorable experience!!

We can't thank you enough.

Forever eternally grateful!!

Lots of love."

"Dear Nathan,

Just wanted to say thank you so much for being such an incredible community midwife!

It's not been the easiest time with covid and the restrictions but thanks to you I never felt scared or alone at my appointments - and that's all thanks to your kindness, compassion and sense of humour.

When I started this journey I didn't know what to expect, so I feel very lucky that we clicked so well... You played such an important role not only in my pregnancy, but also our birth story - I count my blessings every single day that you saw us when you did. You made me feel seen and heard and it was your actions on that day that saved us both from more stress and pain...

Could go on forever about how grateful I am for you ❤️

I'll never forget you and hope our paths cross again some day!

Keep being your amazing self.

All our love."

"To Nathan,

I just wanted to say a big thank you for helping me through my labour - although quite short, it was a stressful time for me, but YOU were like a shining star on a dark day!

I think you are AMAZING, KIND and show so much empathy which not many people do these days.

My little boy is gradually gaining weight and is at 6lb now and because you also helped - he is breastfeeding well.

Once again, you were a rare positive for me during the ordeal.

So THANKYOU and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

With love (you are great)."
